For two years at Loyola Law School, Sophie was on the nationally ranked Byrne Trial Advocacy Team where she developed an unwavering confidence in the courtroom. At the Lonestar Classic Tournament in Texas she received perfect scores on her cross examination.
At the American Association of Justice Tournament, she was awarded the honor of regional champion, receiving perfect scores on her opening statements, cross examinations and closing arguments.
During law school, Sophie clerked at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, working in the hardcore gangs and sex crimes unit.
After graduation, Sophie has continued to hone her trial skills. She was selected to participate in the American Board of Trial Advocates Fellowship. She participated in the American Board of Trial Advocates Jack Daniel’s Trial School and the Trojan Horse method trial training. She is currently 2017 CAALA Trial Academy. The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) Plaintiff Trial Academy (PTA) affords lawyers an opportunity to hone their trial skills with intensive training from accomplished trial The faculty of renowned lawyers teaches advanced techniques in trial preparation and trial practice.
Sophie Etemadi tried a medical malpractice case in Torrance with her colleague, Shane Hapuarachy, involving a client that underwent an unnecessary hysterectomy and received a verdict that was ten times the amount offered by the defense.
Sophie is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and serves on the Executive Committee. She is also a member the Century City Bar Association. She is licenced to practice in the State of California and is also admitted to practice in the Central District Federal Court.
When Sophie isn’t appearing in court she enjoys performing stand-up comedy and doing improv at comedy clubs in Los Angeles.
